Visible, invisible, as a reflection, as the carrier of a picture, as a wall: this is how the installations of Ursula Hürlimann present themselves. In unexpected ways – from sheets of glass, plastic foils – the artist builds special situations.
With their varied transparency each individual element of the works shows itself again and again in new situations. Space may, for moments, dissolve into ‘layers of depth’ to reassemble again into architectual constructions: exciting inter-areas of volume, surface and space are thus unveiled.
